The Portland Timbers are back to playing MLS teams tonight with their match against FC Dallas, and it should be a good one. Nothing like a good ol’ fashion revenge opportunity after Dallas was responsible for the unceremonious end to the Timbers 2020 season.
I’m personally curious to see if there will be any more rotation for tonight. The Timbers did so against the Houston Dynamo last week and it paid off. With a trip to Mexico City for their second leg against Club America looming, I wonder if Giovanni Savarese and crew will get some key guys some much-needed rest. It wouldn’t be the worst idea since tonight will be Portland’s second game in a stretch that sees them playing four games in 12 days.
Whatever Gio chooses to do with the squad, it should be a fun match. Now let’s go get some revenge.
