The International Champions Cup announced on Tuesday that Portland Thorns FC will compete in this summer’s Women’s International Champions Cup presented by Budweiser.
The announcement also included that fans should ‘tune in’ on May 19th at 11:00 a.m. Eastern (8:00 a.m. Pacific) to social media for more information. Announcements will be released on Facebook (@internationalchampionscup), Instagram (@iccwomen) and Twitter (@iccwomen).

It is expected that three more teams will be introduced and they will the site for the tournament. The Houston Dash, Olympique Lyonnais, and FC Barcelona are expected to join the tournament, as first reported by Steven Goff of the Washington Post. Goff also reported that the tournament is expected to be held in Portland, Oregon at Providence Park from Aug. 18-21.
The 2021 NWSL Challenge Cup Champion Portland Thorns FC hosts the Chicago Red Stars in the first match of the regular season on May 16 at 4:00 p.m. (Pacific).
