NWSL announces schedule change for Thorns-Reign matchup

The NWSL announced a time change for the May 23 Cascadia clash between Portland Thorns FC and OL Reign. The match was originally scheduled to kick off at 1 p.m. (Pacific) but has been moved to 3 p.m. (Pacific). The May 23 match will be broadcast on national television on CBS Sports Network.

Portland Thorns’ road match against Kansas City NWSL on Oct. 10 has also been rescheduled. It was originally scheduled for 3:30 p.m (Pacific) but will now kick off at 2 p.m. (pacific) at Legends Field.

The Portland Thorns start the regular season on Sunday. The Thorns will host the Chicago Red Stars at Providence Park. The match is set to kick off at 4 p.m. (Pacific).

Sunday’s match will mark a return to action after the Thorns were crowned the 2021 NWSL Challenge Cup champions on May 8 at Providence Park. Portland Thorns FC and NJ/NY Gotham drew 1-1 and penalty kicks were needed to decide the champion.
