The Portland Timbers are back in action today against LA Galaxy, and it’s an early one. What’s better than an afternoon match on a Saturday? Well, probably an afternoon match where you have more players available than you did the week before, which is unfortunately not the case for the Timbers. They are still very much shorthanded, with essentially the same injury report as last time.
If anything, we saw that despite the many injuries, it’s still possible for the Timbers to come out on top. All it takes is a masterful game from Eryk Williamson and some saved shots from Logan Ketterer. This match is going to be fascinating. I’m most interested in seeing 1) whether or not Williamson will continue to be a star in the midfield and 2) whether or not the Timbers can slow down Chicharito, who has been on a tear this season. We’ll find out in a little bit!
