Portland Thorns FC is back in action with a Cascadia showdown against OL Reign. Although this is the first time the two teams have faced off in the regular season, it’s the second time they’ve played in 2021. The last time these two teams faced off was back in April during the NWSL Challenge Cup, a match the Thorns won 2-0 thanks to goals from Lindsey Horan and Simone Charley.
The Thorns got off to just about as good a start as one could ask for in their season opener. They blew out the Chicago Red Stars 5-0 and looked dominant in just about every facet of the beautiful game. In terms of offense ... well, five goals can tell you generally what you should know. But for information on the defense, take a look at Grant Little’s piece in the pregame reading section.
Well, that’s enough from me. Let’s watch some soccer!
