Two key contributors to the Portland Timbers will play for their respective national teams in the 2021 Copa América tournament. Midfielder Yimmi Chará has earned the call up for the Colombian national team while Felipe Mora has been called up by the Chilean national team.
Per Transfermarkt, Chará has made 10 appearances with the Colombian team back in 2014. During that span, Chará has scored one goal, that goal coming against Venezuela during a friendly on Sep. 8, 2018.
Mora, meanwhile, has eight appearances with the Chilean national team to his name, playing a key role off the bench most recently. Mora has one international goal to his name, which he scored against Guinea in a friendly back on Oct. 15 in 2019.
The Copa América is soccer’s oldest international tournament and will take place from June 13 until July 10. Colombia right now has matches scheduled for June 17 against Venezuela, June 20 against Peru, and June 23 against host-country Brazil. Chile will play on June 14 against Argentina, June 18 against Bolivia, and June 21 against Uruguay.
