Need something to get through your hump day? The Portland Timbers and Houston Dynamo have you covered! The two teams will be playing a midweek match tonight at 5:30 p.m. in Houston. It’ll be the second regular-season meeting between the two clubs, the first matchup going in favor of the Timbers thanks to goals from Dairon Asprilla and Cristhian Paredes.
I expect this to be yet another good match. It feels like the Timbers are being somewhat thrown into the fire in this one. They get off their international break and are rewarded with three games and seven days? How fun! In all seriousness, I’m intrigued by how the Timbers will respond to such a quick turnaround.
Right now, Portland has momentum on their side. Their 2-1 win over Sporting Kansas City was huge for getting them off the right foot to restart MLS play. The return of Sebastian Blanco was even better for depth — and morale — purposes. Let’s see the lads get another three points!
