Tonight marks a first for Portland Thorns FC. It is the first time that the club will play expansion side Racing Louisville FC. Louisville has been off to a decent start for an expansion club this season (despite a tough result coming at the feet of the North Carolina Courage), and I would expect them to put up a decent fight against the Thorns tonight.
While I’m always in favor of good soccer, there is a selfish part of me that’s hoping it isn’t too close. Personally, I would like to see the Thorns come out and dominate Louisville. They seemed to regain some rhythm with their win over Gotham FC, and earning three points against Racing would be a great way to keep that momentum rolling. Let’s see how this one shapes out.
