Were you craving some more Portland Timbers soccer? Couldn’t wait until the weekend? Well boy do I have good news for you! The Timbers are back in action with a midweek matchup against LAFC at home. It is the first time the two clubs have met this season.
The Timbers picked up a big win last time out, taking down FC Dallas 1-0 at home in front of a full capacity Providence Park. The hope is that the win somewhat righted the ship for the Timbers, who were stumbling a bit in the prior few matches. Before the Dallas win, the Timbers had earned only four points in their prior five matches.
LAFC has always been a team that tests the Timbers, so this will surely be an interesting matchup between the two sides. It’ll also be interesting to see if Timbers head coach Giovanni Savarese decides to give guys some rest to let them rest up for Saturday’s road match against Minnesota United. We’ll find out in just a bit!
