It has been a busy week for the Portland Timbers. Today, they’re set to play their third match in just seven days — a road match against Minnesota United. The last time these two teams faced off, the Loons got the better of Portland, taking the match 1-0. The Timbers seem intent on not letting that happen again.
Portland seem to have a little momentum on their side right now. They’ve earned six points over these past two matches, with late goals in the second half propelling them to victory both times. Felipe Mora’s winner at the death in this past match against LAFC very well might be the best finish to a Timbers game this season. But while these late-match comebacks have been very fun and exciting, I think the hearts of Timbers fans might appreciate a nice easy win right about now. Maybe they can earn that today.
