We have some more trades! The 2021 international roster spot that the Portland Timbers traded for just this morning did not stay long, as they are now sending it to Nashville SC in exchange for $230,000 in General Allocation Money.
It’s the second trade that Portland has made today, with the Timbers trading with FC Cincinnati earlier today for the 2021 international roster spot. The Timbers sent $100,000 in General Allocation Money to Cincy this morning.
Before today, Nashville had never made a direct trade with the Timbers. They did, however, select defender Zarek Valentin in the 2019 MLS Expansion Draft before trading him to the Houston Dynamo.
Portland is off for a little while, but will be back in action on July 17 when they return to Providence Park for a match against FC Dallas. It will be their first home match where Providence Park will be at full capacity. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. Pacific.
