Due to the excessive heat forecasted on Sunday, the Portland Timbers’ home match against the Seattle Sounders has been changed from a 5:30 p.m. kickoff to a 7 p.m. kickoff ( Pacific).
This isn’t the first time that the Timbers have had to adjust match kickoff due to excessive heat. The Timbers had to push back the kickoff time for their match against Minnesota United on June 26 twice before finally settling on an 8:30 p.m. kickoff time. The Timbers would go on to lose that match 1-0.
The Timbers and Sounders will face off this Sunday on Aug. 15 at Providence Park. The last time the two teams played each other was on May 9, a match that the Sounders took 2-1 over the lads in green and gold. This Sunday’s game will be broadcasted nationally on FS1 with local radio broadcasts on 750 The Game and La GranD 1150AM/93.5 FM for Spanish.
