Portland Thorns FC and the Houston Dash are set for their matchup tonight at Providence Park. Except this isn’t any ordinary NWSL match. This time, the two teams are playing for a chance to call themselves the best (or at least one of the best) teams in the world. It all starts tonight here at Providence Park.
The Thorns are currently in fine form. They had a bit of a scare this past weekend against the Orlando Pride, but managed to find the equalizer to keep their unbeaten streak alive. The Dash, meanwhile, are 1-2-1 (W-L-D) in their last four matches, including a 1-0 loss to the Thorns.
I like to think that most things are tilting in the Thorns’ favor. They’re playing well, they’ve recently beaten Houston, and they have homefield advantage. Everything seems good for the Thorns. Now it’s just a matter of execution.
