The Portland Timbers and Thorns announced today that they have partnered with local organizations to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Stand Together Week. Stand Together Week takes place from Sept. 5-11 and is a community initiative that supports local nonprofit projects as well as volunteer opportunities across Portland, OR.
Every year the State of Oregon and City of Portland name this week the Portland Timbers & Thorns FC Stand Together Week. The club invites fans to volunteer and team up with Timber Joey and players, coaches and club staff from both teams on various community-based projects.
All indoor volunteer opportunities are operating according to state and local health guidelines. Mask-wearing, hand washing, sanitizing and social distancing will be enforced at the events.
Alaska Airlines, Coca-Cola, Daimler, Danner Boots, Safeway, Providence Sports Medicine, and Umpqua Bank, have partnered with the club to offer 20 volunteer projects benefitting youth, the environment, and social equity.
Stand Together is the Timbers and Thorns’ community outreach program. It represents the relationship between supporters and the teams while signifying the strong commitment the club has to supporting their community on and off the pitch.
