The Portland Timbers are back with some midweek soccer for us all! The lads in green and gold are going up against the San Jose Earthquakes, a team that is always very predictable and totally doesn’t ever play strange games against Portland.
Yeah, as always, this has the potential to be a weird game, and I don’t think that weird is exactly what Portland needs right now. They’ve dropped two tough games in a row, the first being a heartbreaking late-game loss to Minnesota United and the second being a not-very-close-but-still-very disheartening 4-1 loss to the LA Galaxy. Things haven’t been exactly great in Rose City.
But if there’s ever been a time to turn things around, it’s now. Eryk Williamson will be back after a fun run with the USMNT at the Gold Cup and Portland is slowly working their way back to full strength. Let’s turn things around with a big win tonight.
