The Portland Thorns travel to Cary, North Carolina to take on the North Carolina Courage in WakeMed Soccer Park today. It will be broadcasted on CBS Sports Network at 12 p.m. Pacific. This match could have huge implications on the race for the NWSL Shield. It’s the second-place Thorns versus the third-place Courage, who are hot on Portland’s heels.
The Thorns lost their first match in Cary, NC 2-0 courtesy of a Lynn Williams brace. This is the second meeting between the sides this season. Portland and North Carolina will play for the third time in both teams’ final match of the NWSL regular season in Providence Park on Saturday, Oct. 30.
