The Portland Timbers have completely turned their season around after winning three straight away matches, two of which came against Cascadia rivals Seattle and Vancouver. The Timbers have returned home after a five-match road trip and welcome the Colorado Rapids to Providence Park tonight.

It is a battle between number five and number three in the Western Conference. The LA Galaxy sit between the Timbers and the Rapids. Portland can put the pressure on the Galaxy and at least momentarily close the gap to one point.
