The Portland Timbers are coming off a huge win against the Seattle Sounders at Lumen Field. The 2-0 win was the Timbers’ first win since Saturday, Aug. 7. The three points propelled Portland into sixth place in the Western Conference, a playoff position.
The Timbers have struggled to put together consistent results this season and they have even more trouble doing so on the road. The rivalry win against Seattle could provide the team with a much needed momentum and confidence boost. But if the Portland are to right the ship they will need to get three points tonight in Houston - something the Timbers have never been able to do in MLS history.
