Mora played an integral role in Portland’s 2-0 win against the Houston Dynamo. The forward’s header was saved into the path of Yimmi Chara, who opened the scoring in Houston. The Chilean also won and scored a penalty kick to double the Timbers’ lead.
Mora also scored against the Seattle Sounders on Aug. 29th. His late goal made it 2-0 and ensured that Portland would leave Seattle with all three points. Mora has registered a team-high nine goals and four assists, both of which are Mora’s career bests with the Timbers.
Clark and the Timbers have won two straight road games and kept clean sheets in both matches. Portland’s keeper was called upon to make crucial saves in both matches.
The Portland Timbers will play the Vancouver Whitecaps on Friday, Sept. 10. Kickoff is slated for 7:00 p.m. (Pacific) at BC Place. This match will conclude the Timbers’ five-match road trip.
