The MLS Disciplinary Committee announced today that Donovan Ricketts would be suspended an additional game, bringing the total to two matches that he will be forced to sit, and fined an undisclosed amount for his collision with the Colorado Rapids' Deshorn Brown during Saturday's 2-0 loss.

The additional game suspension guarantees that Ricketts will miss both this weekend's game against FC Dallas and next Saturday's game against the Seattle Sounders. Instead, career back-up Andrew Weber will step up for the Timbers. In his nine years of MLS experience, Weber has accumulated seven starts, including a record of 1-1-3 since 2012.
Talking about Weber on Tuesday, before the suspension was announced, team captain Will Johnson was quick to express his confidence in this weekend's starting keeper.
We have the same confidence in Andrew that we have in Donovan. He's an experienced guy who has been around the block a few times, been in the league for a long time, so he knows what he is doing. I think it is just more of a communication thing in the beginning: getting his message across, getting guys where he wants them on different set pieces. Every goalie is a little bit different.
Ricketts picked up an apparent MCL injury on the play that earned him his red card, although the team has yet to give a time frame for his recovery, so it is possible that he may have been set to miss the match against Seattle regardless.
