Portland Timbers at Houston Dynamo Match Thread [12:00]

The Timbers are on the road in Houston as they look for their first win of the season.

Casey Sapio-USA TODAY Sports

The Portland Timbers are on the hunt for points and today they look to take down the Houston Dynamo. The team's win-less start has finally seen the Timbers slip into last place in the league, somewhere wholly unfamiliar to last year's side. A win today, however, could move the Timbers five rungs up the ladder and get them started back up the Table. A loss or a tie, however, would keep them in the basement.

BBVA Compass Stadium has been a hard place for teams to play since opening in 2012, but the Dynamo that the Timbers will face today seem ripe to be plucked. With a number of important players questionable, including key midfielders Brad Davis and Ricardo Clark, Houston have been on a five game slid, failing to take more than a single point over that time. If the Timbers can get their game together, today looks like a good day for three points.

Here is all the information that you need for today's match:

Previews

Match Preview: "Against Houston, the Timbers will need to be ruthless and precise to beat Tally Hall, the Dynamo's long-serving keeper. The Timbers' goal scorers need to make a statement against Hall, particularly Darlington Nagbe, who has yet to open his account in 2014."

Preview Interview: "If Clark is gone and if Davis is unable to go a full 90 then we are in big trouble. Davis is our number one leader on the field and when he is gone Clark usually steps into the roll. To be missing both would be a huge loss for the Dynamo. Playing at BBVA helps gain a little but not enough."
