Portland Timbers at Real Salt Lake Match Thread

The Timbers try to get their first win in Salt Lake today as they take on RSL.

Russ Isabella-USA TODAY Sports

The Portland Timbers are on the road to face off against Real Salt Lake today as they go into their final batch of games before the World Cup break. The Timbers' back line will see further changes today thanks to the trade of Futty Danso and recent health concerns surrounding Norberto Paparatto and Pa Modou Kah, while their attack will look to continue gaining momentum.

Here is all the information that you need for today's match:

Previews

Match Preview: "At the other end of the pitch, things are going nicely for the Timbers on the attack, a fact that can primarily be laid at the feet of Diego Valeri. In the last six games Valeri has claimed seven assists and one goal, driving the offense forward at a breakneck pace. Valeri did have a string of matches in August of 2013 that saw him racking up assists at a similar clip, but if he can continue to bring his level of performance against RSL, he could find himself in uncharted territory."

Preview Interview: "RSL's recent form is not due solely to the absences of their national team call-ups, although that definitely has something to do with it. RSL is lacking proven firepower up front with Alvaro Saborio, Joao Plata, and Robbie Findley all either injured or unavailable over this stretch."
