The Timbers are on their last East Coast trip of the year as they take on Toronto in this morning's match.

Joe Nicholson-USA TODAY Sports

The Portland Timbers have headed to Canada and are set to take on Toronto FC in their last match of the regular season against Eastern Conference opposition. With the Timbers just above the red line in the West and Toronto just below it in the East, this will be a match up between two teams in need of points to secure their playoff chances.

Match Preview: "Perhaps the most visible of the Timbers' partnerships is the pairing of Pa Modou Kah and designated player Liam Ridgewell in the center of the defense. With Kah's extended absence due to injury earlier in the year and Ridgewell's late arrival to the side, the Timbers' first choice centerbacks have only had four games together so far, but they are undefeated in those four."

Preview Interview: "What to expect now from TFC under Greg Vanney? Well, it's quite similar to what we saw under Nelsen at the start of the season, he's not a fan of possession for possession's sake, preferring quick attacks, and aggressive pressing. Through 4 games against pretty poor opposition, (Philly x2, Chicago and Chivas) it hasn't looked convincing at all as that pressing has seemed almost suicidal at times and better teams could have killed the exposed defence. The return of the defence to full health, especially captain Steven Caldwell should help with that, but I'm not going to make any judgements based on a win over Chivas."
