The Portland Timbers come into this afternoon's match against the LA Galaxy in need of at least a point to reclaim their playoff fate from the flithy hands of the San Jose Earthquakes. Taking on the team with the best home record in the league away from the confines of Providence Park will be no picnic and this game will be as good a measure as any of the strength and character of this Timbers team.

Mini Match Preview: "Of course, just as the Timbers are dealing with a wave of injured players, the Galaxy are getting a number of injured players back to match fitness. Robbie Rogers, Baggio Husidic, and several others are making their way back from the Galaxy's injury report, but by far the most influential of that group is Mexican national teamer Giovanni Dos Santos. Although he has only played a handful of games for the club, Santos's influence and quality on the pitch are undeniable, particularly when he is combining with a player the quality of reigning MLS MVP Robbie Keane."
