Two at a Time, We Want Goals

Ahead of today's match between the Portland Timbers and Sporting Kansas City, let's all take a moment to meditate on the one thing that has been missing from the matches between these two teams so far this season: goals.

After all, all we really want is goals.

The Timbers's leading scorer this year, Fanendo Adi has a knack for finding goals. In fact, his 16 goals scored this year are more than any other Timbers player since the team joined MLS back in 2011. An even more unusual record from Adi? His nine two-goal games with the Timbers are by far the team's most in the MLS era, with Darlington Nagbe and Diego Valeri behind him at two apiece.

Now, as you all know, we don't just want goals: two at a time, we want goals. With that in mind, let's look at all the Adi-braces from this season.

Portland Timbers 2, LA Galaxy 2

Portland Timbers 2, New England Revolution 0

Portland Timbers 4, Seattle Sounders 1

Columbus Crew 1, Portland Timbers 2

LA Galaxy 2, Portland Timbers 5
