After two long weeks off, it is finally time. The Portland Timbers host FC Dallas today in the first leg of the Western Conference Finals, the last step on the way to the MLS Cup Final.
With an opponent the Timbers have not faced since July in Dallas and some forced personnel changes due to suspensions for Rodney Wallace and Diego Valeri, this game is very much up in the air. One thing that we can be sure about, however, is that the Timbers will have no choice but to leave it all out on the field and come away with a result against the top place team in the West.
Previews
Match Preview: "Of course, even if the Timbers do manage to neutralize Diaz they still have the presence of two potential game changes out not he flanks for Dallas. On the left is Fabian Castillo, the team's leading scorer and a speedster that few in MLS can match for pace. Castillo even earned a call up to the Colombian National Team recently based on the strength of his play in MLS. On the right is the diminutive but dangerous Michael Barrios. Barrios, the team's third leading scorer behind Castillo and Diaz, has a deep bag of tricks to call on and will keep any player marking him very busy."
