The Portland Timbers' second and third groups played to a 0-0 draw against the San Jose Earthquakes. There was no stream, only tweets. As such, we really have no choice but award our Man of the Match by going back through the Timbers' Twitter timeline.
Looking back, there is one clear winner: the Timbers' new centerback, Nat Borchers.
Ok, so maybe we went back a little past the start of the match to yesterday, but, really, Borchers' "Twitter Takeover" was much more interesting than the scant bits and piece we got from this morning's match.
Live from Tucson: @natborchers is ready to answer your questions. Fire away with #AskBorchers. #RCTID pic.twitter.com/kCq5aCFflc

Borchers starts off strong with some excellent hashtag use.
.@timbersfan81 The #legend and #saltydog that is @JewsburyJ.Great roommate, clean, good banter. Especially like his birth date. #AskBorchers

He then gives us another look at Caleb Porter from a player's perspective.
.@pacificNWboater Both are organized, well spoken, super intense. Anyone who wants to be a head coach in this league could learn from them.

Then it finally gets to the stuff everyone really wants to know about: the beard-related questions.
.@ppothree Seriously? Of course you do. I fear the beard!!! #AskBorchers
— Portland Timbers (@TimbersFC) February 9, 2015
And beard-growing advice.
.@Reece14Scragg Yes. Don't ever, ever, ever, ever, ever. Ever. Give up. #AskBorchers
— Portland Timbers (@TimbersFC) February 9, 2015
And the potential demise of the beard, although there is some push back from an important source.
.@brocklese That is the plan. We win it and it gets shaven. But you'll have to ask @natsbeard to be certain. #AskBorchers
— Portland Timbers (@TimbersFC) February 9, 2015
@TimbersFC @brocklese No! We don't want any clippers anywhere near me.

Next is the thing that we Portlanders like talking about even more than beards: how great Portland is.
.@chaibaba I'm really looking forward to spending free time getting to know Portland. Drinking coffee is my new past time. #AskBorchers
— Portland Timbers (@TimbersFC) February 9, 2015
No twitter takeover would be complete without a shout-out to Borchers' old team.
.@henkemeyer I hope NOT to be nutmegged by @joaoplata10. One of the best forwards this league has to offer and he's clinical. #AskBorchers
— Portland Timbers (@TimbersFC) February 9, 2015
The whole thing wraps up with the question that every Timbers player has been asked.
.@mpacific I really didn't like them much when I was with RSL to be honest. Great team, always organized. So......yeah. #AskBorchers
