Portland Timbers vs. FC Dallas: Match Information and Previews

Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

The Portland Timbers take on FC Dallas tonight in a match between the first and last place teams in the Western Conference. Sure, the standings are basically meaningless this early in the season, but with the Timbers still winless in the 2015 regular season, taking three points here would be a big boost to the team.

Previews

Match Preview: "In particular, it has been encouraging to see Darlington Nagbe able to continue to influence matches when cutting in from the right flank, rather than parked in the center of the pitch. With Alvas Powell covering ground all up and down the right, Nagbe's ability to operate inside gives the speedy Powell room in which to affect the game and give the Timbers a man advantage in the attack, something that the Timbers made great use of late in the 2014 season."

Preview Interview: "Oscar Pareja will win MLS Cup with FC Dallas. It's just a matter of time. This year certainly feels more sustainable than last year. The team is less dependent on a single player for goal production. Last year was a trial by fire when Diaz went down with an injury, but Pareja was able to put the rest of the roster back into a successful formation."
