The Portland Timbers take on the worst of the East today as the Chicago Fire come to town. Despite being tied with the Philadelphia Union at the bottom of MLS's Eastern Conference, however, the Fire are a side that have shown that they have what it takes to play with the best in MLS.
The Timbers are unbeaten at home in the last seven matches at Providence Park and the Fire are the only remaining team in MLS who have not yet won a game away from home, so expect the Timbers to look to put themselves back on track with a strong performance here.
Plus, with Lucas Melano making his first appearance on the pitch in Portland, could the Timbers' new Argentine attacker get the start? Caleb Porter was coy on the subject, but fans are itching to see the youngster play in person.
Preview
Match Preview: "For the Timbers, the continued reintegration of Diego Valeri and Will Johnson remain the most important factors for the team as they look to put together a performance that builds on the solid defensive work that the team exhibited against the San Jose Earthquakes last week."
