The Warrior, Rodney Wallace, has finally signed with a club and it is not the Portland Timbers. The MLS Cup goalscorerhas headed to Portugal to join first division side Futebol Clube Arouca, according to a post on the team's site.

Since joining the Timbers in 2011, Wallace played 129 league and post-season matches for the club, scoring 18 goals and adding 20 assists in that time. Wallace and fellow 2011 Timber Darlington Nagbe are the only two players to have scored a goal in each of the Timbers first five MLS seasons.

FC Arouca, situated in the same metro area as famous side FC Porto in norther Portugal, is currently in the middle of the table in the Premeira Liga after barely avoiding relegation in the 2014-15 season. Coming into the side, Wallace will find himself competing with Portuguese youngster Ivo Rodriguez for time on the left wing.

The delay in announcing Wallace's signing seems to have come from the necessity of offloading Brazilian winger Nildo Petrolina, whom Arouca sold yesterday to fellow Premeira Liga side Moreirense FC.

With Wallace's departure finally official, Timbers fans can fondly remember some of the goals(1) scored(2) by the winger, then look to the future and start speculating about who the Timbers might be looking at bringing in to fill in the team's depth on the wings with reckless abandon.
