The Portland Thorns come home tonight after kicking off their season with a two game road swing. The defending NWSL champions will host the 2013 regular season winners, FC Kansas City, as they look to extend their unbeaten record to three games.
The Thorns last match, played against Sky Blue FC, saw the team move toward the possession-based attacking style that new head coach Paul Riley has promised since taking over, but their attack still sputtered. Now, finally at home three weeks into the season, the Thorns will look to make use of their rabid and numerous fan base to propel them on to victory.
Here is all the information that you need for today's match:
Previews
Match Preview: "This bodes well for the Thorns attack, especially Long and McDonald, providing speed out wide and when Rebecca Moros and Courtney Niemiec push up the field in wingback roles. What has been missing the most has been finishing in the box, and if the Thorns are able to make these connections, we will begin to see what this team can truly do."
