Christine Sinclair has once again been called into camp by Canada's Women’s National Team head coach John Herdman, the Canadian Soccer Association announced Thursday.
Sinclair, the lone Thorns’ Canadian international, has been a mainstay since 2000 as a 17 year-old, making 200 appearances (195 starts) and scoring 147 goals, third all-time and second among active players behind Abby Wambach.
Canada will open camp on Monday in Winnipeg. Sinclair’s Canadian side will take on Thorns teammates Allie Long, Nikki Marshall, and the United States on Thursday, May 8 at 5:00pm PDT at Investors Group Field. The match will be streamed live on ESPN3 and espnW.com in the United States and aired on Sportsnet One in Canada.
Among the players called into camp include former Thorns goalkeeper Karina LeBlanc and former University of Portland star midfielder Sophie Schmidt.
Sinclair will leave the Thorns following their match against Western New York on Saturday in Rochester, New York and return Friday, prior to their match against Seattle Reign FC on Saturday, May 10.
