Match Thread: Thorns at Breakers (4:30pm)

The Thorns take on the Breakers at 4:30 from Harvard Stadium in Allston, Massachusetts.

Stacey Neve - Stumptown Footy

The Portland Thorns hit the road for the 5th time this season and their 3rd match in 8 days as they take on the Boston Breakers.  The Breakers, currently sitting in last place in the NWSL, have struggled all season and have only scored 7 times, with 5 of those goals coming from two matches and were shutout in their last match against FC Kansas City on Sunday.

Here is all the information that you need for today's match:

Match Preview: "The Thorns should be able to take care of the Breakers easily, but they have to show up and play like they Wednesday, taking control of the match early and putting the opponent away before they have a chance to gain confidence, while holding off any comeback attempts.

On paper, the Thorns defense should have little to do, allowing their midfield and attack to control the match.  While this is not a given, the Breakers have done little recently to signal that their attack will suddenly wake up and give the Thorns fits, though Sky Blue presented a similar appearance going into Saturday as well."
