Portland Thorns vs. Boston Breakers: Previews, Live Streaming, and Match Chat

Stacey Neve

The NWSL is back and the Portland Thorns are set to kick the season off at home against their nemeses of the last two years, the Boston Breakers. After an ultimately disappointing 2014, the Thorns will want to start off strong in 2015 and prove that they can live up to the ridiculous collection of talent that they have on hand, before their biggest names head off to play in the Women's World Cup.

Previews

Match Preview: "Portland will be boosted by the return of key U.S. internationals Alex Morgan, Rachel Van Hollebeke, and Tobin Heath, who were all able to spend a few days with the squad in the buildup to the season opener, as well as Nadine Angerer and Jodie Taylor who are expected to be back from international call-ups for the game. Working these players back into the fold will have an influence on how Portland will click offensively."

Preview Interview: "It settled down a little bit closer to the end of the season and now they're coming into this season with a back line they didn't have to scramble to put together. I think in the trade with FCKC for Kassey Kallman and Marlborough, there was a conscious decision to have Kallman plug that hole as a known entity with a good track record on central defense. Cat Whitehill said at the Breakers kit launch they're very conscious of the problems they had last season. I mean, how could you not be."
