The Portland Thorns will look to break their recent streak of 2-2 draws today with their second match of the year against the bottom dwelling Boston Breakers. After opening the year with a 4-1 win over the Breakers, the Thorns will now look to replicate that swashbuckling victory without any of the team's World Cup stars, all of whom have either left for their national team camps. Who the Thorns will have, however, is new forward Ayo Añonma, set to make her debut in the Rose City.
Preview
Portland has rallied from two-goal deficits in each of the last two games, at times dominating as the match wears on. A big part of this has been the creativity of midfielder Mana Shim, who scored in both draws and had a hand in both equalizers. She tallied the tying goal away at Chicago on April 25 and set up Allie Long to score the leveling goal last weekend against the Washington Spirit. Shim currently has three goals and three assists on the season.
