We knew that there would be women's soccer in EA Sports' FIFA franchise for the first time this year and now we are finding out that they will be on the cover as well. EA announced today that two Portland Thorns players will grace the covers of FIFA 16 in North America as Alex Morgan and Christine Sinclair will join Argentine superstar Leo Messi on the cover in their respective countries.
EDIT: Thorns player and Australian international Steph Catley had previously been announced as sharing the cover with Messi for the Australian edition of FIFA.
Morgan, a key player for the World Cup winning US Women's National Team despite knee injuries that have dogged her this year, and Sinclair, Canada's iconic striker, are undoubtedly two of the biggest names in the game and are two players that Thorns fans will be looking forward to playing as in the upcoming iteration of FIFA.
Although only women's national teams will be available to play, the ability to play as your favorite female players is revolutionary for the series.
