Six members of the Portland Thorns have been named to Jill Ellis' 25 player roster for two friendlies against Japan on June 2 and June 5.

Keeper Adrianna Franch, defenders Meghan Klingenberg and Emily Sonnett and midfielders Tobin Heath, Lindsey Horan and Allie Long will join the United States Women's National Team on May 27, meaning they will miss the Thorns' May 29 match against Seattle at Providence Park.

With injuries to Michelle Betos, Kendall Johnson and Kat Williamson, along with the expected arrival of Amandine Henry in early June, the Thorns face the potential of having only 12 currently active players available to them for a pivotal rivalry match.
