The Portland Timbers pursuit of 19-year-old Paraguayan Cristhian Paredes has been well documented so far and now it appears that the young box-to-box midfielder has joined the Timbers for their preseason camp in Tucson, AZ.
After pictures this morning reportedly from Paredes’ social media seemed to show him in the Timbers’ locker room, wearing a pair of Timbers shorts, journalist Jamie Goldberg of the Oregonian confirmed that Paredes is with the Timbers for his medical exam before making his addition to the side official.
...Including one that seems to be suggesting Paredes posted a picture of him wearing PTFC shorts on social media. #RCTID https://t.co/heAfE2S4iI

If that social media picture is from Paredes, that looks like the carpet in PTFC’s Tucson locker room. Compare with Valentin’s tweet, here. #RCTID https://t.co/9cqmgblgb5

The deal to bring Paredes to Portland is reportedly a loan with an option to purchase, making him a TAM-level player for the Timbers.
Paredes will join a Timbers midfield corps that has gotten dramatically younger this year under the stewardship of new head coach Giovanni Saravese, adding depth behind the Timbers’ presuming starting pair of Diego Chara and David Guzman.
