The Thorns have announced their preseason roster ahead of the start of the 2018 NWSL training camp.
In addition, the Thorns made some major re-signings: Celeste Boureille, Britt Eckerstrom, Adrianna Franch, Meg Morris, Hayley Raso, Katherine Reynolds and Mallory Weber have all penned new deals with the club. Meghan Klingenburg has yet to finalize new terms after losing allocated status but is in camp.
With Ashleigh Sykes’ recent retirement, there is one spot on the roster that needs filling, so one of the trialists may end up signing a contract. Among the non-roster invitees are Kelli Hubly and Ashley Herdon, both of whom were amateur players at the club last year and were signed to short-term deals when international players were away at the 2017 European Championships. Forward Simone Charley and recent Colombian national team callup Cristina De Zeeuw both join camp from Vanderbilt after going undrafted. Elizabeth Ball, who once played in front of Eckerstrom in defense at Penn State and Bobbi Eckler, Vancouver native and former Concordia University forward, round out the roster.
