The Portland Timbers today announced that the new Providence Park will soft-open with two home games featuring T2. T2 will first take on El Paso Locomotive FC at Providence Park on Saturday, May 25, before playing host to Real Monarchs SLC on Wednesday, May 29.
While these “preview” matches will only allow fans in the westside and the North End — Providence Park is still getting its finishing touches — Timbers President of Business Mike Golub explains, “These T2 games are a terrific opportunity for fans to get a first glimpse of this amazing transformation and for our staff to grow with its many new features.”
Also, it’s worth mentioning that T2 has been a good, exciting team to watch in 2019, so if you haven’t checked out a game yet, this is the perfect time.
The full open of the upgraded venue will still take place on June 1 with the Timbers’ 2019 home opener against LAFC.
