Are the Timbers bringing in Radamel Falcao?

Merritt Paulson threw some eyeball emojis into the pot, so maybe!

In a report originally from Argentine outlet Varsky Sports, the Portland Timbers are supposedly looking to add Radamel Falcao to the roster.

Falcao — who is also known as “El Tigre” — currently plays for the Turkish side Galatasary. The 34-year-old forward is the captain for the Colombian national team and is Colombia’s all-time leading scorer. El Tigre has also enjoyed a prolific professional career, playing for vaunted European sides such as Atletico Madrid and Monaco. EL Tigre has 178 goals over the course of 12 professional seasons with six clubs.

Mustafa Cengiz, the president of Galatasaray, also confirmed that Falcao has been fielding multiple offers, with Falcao garnering attention from clubs in South America and Saudi Arabia.

For what it’s worth, Merritt Paulson might have hinted that the news has some merit (pun completely intended).

Was Paulson just having fun, or do we have another signing happening soon? Whether or not anything actually comes to fruition, it certainly was enough to grab people’s attention late on a Thursday.
