The Portland Timbers face off against the Seattle Sounders today in a US Open Cup match that has been robbed of its interest by the increasingly common match up of the two sides in all competitions.
With both the Timbers and Sounders limited by injuries and call ups, tonight’s match will be played out by sides full of players from T2 and S2, the USL squads of the respective sides, as well as a handful of bench players and depth pieces from the first team of both. For Timbers fans that means appearances from players like Marco Farfan, Victor Arboleda, and Jeremy Ebobisse.
Lineup Preview
“What does that all mean for us tonight though? It means that you should expect to see what will likely be a nearly all T2 lineup. Jeff Attinella will be in goal. Jeremy Ebobisse will start at the top. But everyone in between will be regular T2 players or first team loanees that have spent most of the season with T2.”
