For the first time since 1999 and for just the third time in MLS history, four coaches have been fired by their clubs in the middle of the 2017 season. Jeff Cassar (Real Salt Lake), Dominic Kinnear (San Jose Earthquakes), Curt Onalfo (LA Galaxy) and Pablo Mastroeni (Colorado Rapids) all received the axe this year, with Cassar the first to get the boot in March and Mastroeni the most recent to be dismissed just a couple of weeks ago. Their dismissals tie a record for most in-season firings in MLS history.
