T2 opening their season on Sunday with 3-1 victory over Real Monarchs.  With so many new faces, we will be profiling the 20 players signed or loaned to the USL side.

We continue with defender Anthony Manning.

Height: 6' 4"
Weight: 200 lbs.
Birth Date: 09-04-1992
Birthplace: Mesquite, TX

Manning, 22, joins T2 after completing his collegiate career at St, Louis University.

Manning was a four year starter with the Billikens, scoring 5 goals and 2 assists as a senior and was named the Atlantic-10 Defender of the Year for the second consecutive year, after helping lead SLU to 11 shutouts, the most in the A-10.  For his career, Manning made 73 appearances (70 starts), starting every match his freshman, sophomore, and senior seasons.  Manning was named to the NSCAA All-Region team three times (2012-2014) and earned All A-10 first team honors in 2013 and 2014.

Drafted by the Timbers in the 2015 MLS SuperDraft, Manning made his preseason debut on against Sporting Kansas City on January 31, coming on at half time.  He appeared again against San Jose on February 10, playing the last 30 minutes, and played a full 90 against the Chicago Fire on February 25.

A large, mobile centerback, Manning plays well with the ball at his feet and in the air, using his size as a ball-winner.

Already with attributes that Porter vales from his players, especially the ability to play the ball out of the back, Manning should find himself getting further consideration for the first team with a solid showing in the USL.
