Daniel Withrow, 24, joins T2 after spending last season as a MLS League Pool Goalkeepr, training with the Timbers first team throughout the 2014 season.
Drafted by the Columbus Crew in the 2013 Supplemental Draft, Withrow made his MLS debut in a friendly against Wigan Athletic, his only appearance with the first team, he served as the Crew's primary back up late in the season. He made 3 starts in the MLS Reserve League, posting a 2-1-0 record and 1.00 goals against average.
A four year starter at Marshall University, Withrow made 67 appearances (65 starts) and recorded 21 shutouts, finishing as the Thundering Herd's single season and all-time leader in the category. He was named to the All-Conference USA first team his from sophomore to senior years, and the second team as a freshman, while capping off his collegiate career by being named the co-C-USA Player of the Year, was selected to the NCAA D1 All-Midwest Region team, as well as the C-USA Defender of the Year as a sophomore.
Withrow comes to T2 looking to find his place as a professional goalkeeper. While he is currently third on the depth chart, behind Jake Gleeson and Justin Luthy, should either of those player get called into the first team or suffer an injury, Withrow would be given his opportunity to shine for T2.
