Valencia situation detail should be made public tomorrow or fri latest. tough news for short term but better news for long term #rctid
Via @MerritPaulson.
My guess is that this means Valencia won't be playing this year, but that he will continue to be a part of the squad going forward. Just a guess though.
Still have no idea what the problem is/was.

Sounds right to me.
Hopefully he can power through it…whatever it is.

Merritt has spoken positively about finding a way to make it work.
If the medical staff could turn Dike around in 5 months I have hope they have a good plan for whatever ails Valencia.

uh
I read this as….. We have to let his contract go… but it means we will have more money and more options in the long run…. But what do I know.

It can be read that way too, but I'm going off his statements to Extra Time Radio too

That makes his "better news for the long term" seem kind of harsh, though.
Oklahoma State will beat LSU in the National Title game by more than 7 points.

I took it as:
We found something medically which has gone under the radar and needs to be fixed now… so it sucks right now, but he will come back perfectly healthy and ready to go in the long term.

Me too
Didn’t the same situation happen with Nagbe last year? They figured out he’d been playing with a sports hernia since college or something? I feel like it’s a similar situation.
"I'm not blind, I'm deaf, I'm halfway to a ref!" (Well technically I'm 1/3rd of the way since I can properly call offsides, but that doesn't sound as catchy..)

Sure has the same feel

Should be noted though....
That doesn’t impact you long-term, nor would it mean your out for the season. But I think the scale is right. I’m really starting to think its a Lamarcus style heart problem. Getting back from that would probably cost him a year.

Nobody said anything about long-term impact
MP specifically says “tough news for short term”

He then says
but Better news long term. Meaning he is out for the season but can come back.
