Darlington Nagbe isn’t the only Timber that will be playing for his country during this international break. David Guzman, Bill Tuiloma and Vytas have all been called up by their respective countries.
This makes a total of four players that will be leaving on international duty. And just like Nagbe, they won’t miss any playing time with the Timbers.
The 27 year-old defensive midfielder will be joining Costa Rica in their final push towards the World Cup. They will play Honduras at home on Friday and will travel to Panama on Tuesday the 10th. Guzman made his international debut in 2010 and has earned a total of 40 caps for his country.
He will join Lithuania as they will be taking on Malta and England in a round of World Cup Qualifiers. They will face Malta on the road on Thursday and then they will return home on Sunday to take on the Three Lions. The 26 year-old defender made his international debut in 2011 and has 25 caps.
The 22 year-old will be joining New Zealand for an upcoming friendly in Japan on Friday. He earned his first senior cap four years ago, and now has 19 caps for his country since making his debut. Most recently he played three straight matches against Russia, Mexico and Portugal in the 2017 FIFA Confederations cup.
