Heavily favored going into the match, the United States will try to jump out on the front foot, utilizing the attacking firepower of Megan Rapinoe, Alex Morgan, and Tobin Heath and the midfield trio just behind them. Coming off a six game winning streak, the USWNT will press high against Thailand, trying to rack up goals and hoping their pressure going forward will keep Thailand out of the game.

Thailand will lean on the defensive experience of players such as captain Duangnapa Sritala and Sunisa Srangthaisong in an attempt to keep the Americans at bay. Against a USWNT defense that has looked shaky going into the tournament, Thailand will hope to find opportunities on the counter attack. Suchawadee Nildhamrong (also known as Miranda Nild) has been a breakout star for the Thai side, scoring 12 goals in her first 17 appearances and could partner with a teammate like Kanjana Sungngoen up front.
