San Antonio FC announced the signing on Jack Barmby for the 2019 USL Championship this week after his contract with the Portland Timbers ended with the 2018 season. Earning playing time with the first team this year only during a US Open Cup match, Barmby spent most of the season with T2, where he scored six goals and three assists in 25 appearances.
Barmby was acquired from Leicester City after their cinderella-story 2016, but despite showing some flashes of solid MLS play on the ball in his three years with the club, he was never able to earn a regular starting spot on the first team. Perhaps this is not terribly surprising given his competition in the attacking midfielder depth chart.
Barmby scored 2 MLS goals for the club, both in the 2016 season.
