Kinda surprised this hasn't been mentioned here yet, at least in a comment section (admittedly I could have just missed it), but the Timbers quietly made a pretty big move from a non-soccer standpoint. They hired Richard Farley to be a Timbers-specific staff writer. I was pretty surprised because Richard Farley has some decent name recognition in the American soccer media landscape, having been a regular contributor for outlets such as FourFourTwo. He's made a dramatic improvement on the Timbers-produced written content so far that I've seen. Will be curious to see what leeway he's given to editorialize, but if we're going to be fed team-produced propaganda, it doesn't hurt for that to be much more in-depth and well-written. He did have a pretty good interview with Adi that was actually insightful, generating responses that were much more than your typical playerspeak platitudes.
